A cleanroom purification project—also known as a dust-free room or cleanroom engineering—is the design and construction of a room equipped with air filtration, purification, delivery, and circulation systems. This room is composed of specialized purification materials and filtration devices. Using specific, standardized operating procedures and corresponding air-conditioning and purification equipment, the project controls environmental parameters within the room, including the concentration of airborne particulates, temperature, humidity, pressure differentials, as well as noise levels, illumination coefficients, and electrostatic control. By effectively removing microparticles, harmful airborne substances, bacteria, and other contaminants from the air in the space, the cleanroom achieves the desired cleanliness level required for its intended application.
The cleanliness of a purification workshop is the design objective of dust-free purification projects. Depending on the requirements of different industries, cleanliness testing is typically linked to the current status of the purification workshop and is generally categorized into the following three cleanliness levels:
Cleanliness in the empty state: A cleanroom (facility) that has been fully constructed and is ready for operation. It is equipped with all relevant services and functions. However, no operators or production equipment are present within the facility. The air cleanliness measured under these conditions is referred to as the "empty-state cleanliness."
Static cleanliness: A cleanroom (facility) that is fully functional and properly installed and configured, capable of being used according to its set parameters or currently in use—but with no operators present inside the facility—has its air cleanliness measured under these static conditions, which is referred to as static cleanliness.
Dynamic cleanliness: In a cleanroom that is in normal use, with fully functional services and equipped with both machinery and personnel, and capable of carrying out routine production activities if needed, the air cleanliness level measured under such conditions is referred to as dynamic cleanliness.
Therefore, a cleanroom purification project is one that requires highly coordinated design and construction techniques. The factors that typically need to be considered and controlled—including but not limited to—include the following 10 points:
1. It can remove fine particulate matter floating in the air.
2. Effectively purifies and controls the number of airborne microorganisms.
3. Control of temperature and humidity.
4. Atmospheric pressure adjustment.
5. Eliminate harmful gases.
6. Airtightness of structures and compartments.
7. Prevention and control of static electricity.
8. Prevention of electromagnetic interference.
